Cuts short-form for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts — including vertical reframes from long-form
Edits long-form YouTube: pacing, b-roll, sound design, thumbnails if you need them
Builds ad variation sets — same footage, ten hooks, ten endings
Captions and subtitles, burned-in or SRT
Basic motion graphics: lower thirds, titles, simple animated logos
Manages project files, versions, and handoff so nothing lives on one person’s desktop
A portfolio in your format. An editor who cuts wedding films is not an editor who cuts DTC ads, regardless of how good the wedding films are.
A paid skills task on real footage — your footage where possible, comparable footage where not.
Turnaround under pressure. We give the task a real deadline and see what comes back.
English at B2 or above, scored on CEFR. Enough to take direct feedback in a call without a translator in the middle.
Revision temperament. We ask about the worst client note they ever got and how they handled it. The answer tells you more than the reel does.
